REPORTS TO: Clinical Director of The Wings Center

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Full-time. Exempt.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Assistant Clinical Director will assist the Clinical Director in leading, shepherding, and providing oversight to the outpatient counseling practice at The Wings Center while also providing direct patient care as an anchor to our outpatient clinical mental health team.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide various outpatient mental health services with the goal of patient recovery and flourishing, including mental health assessments, counseling, referrals and intervention services.
  2. Assist in various administrative tasks critical to effective and efficient operation of outpatient counseling services at The Wings Center.
  3. Assist with outreach to network our services with churches, schools and other organizations.
  4. Help to shepherd and guard The Wings Center culture.
  5. Assist in developing operating policies and procedures.
  6. Assist with the recruiting and hiring of additional therapists, leading of weekly staff meetings, and providing clinical supervision/oversight of the other therapists.
  7. Help ensure the highest quality of care delivery through The Wings Center’s outpatient mental health services (e.g., individual, couples’, family, and group counseling; assessments, educational services, professional consultations, etc.)
  8. Complete and maintain documentation according to federal and state guidelines and help ensure that other clinicians at The Wings Center follow best practices for service documentation.
  9. Assist in developing therapeutic intensives and retreat programming at the retreat center.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. A doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D.) in a mental health-related field of study, such as clinical mental health counseling, psychology, licensed professional counseling, marriage and family counseling or social work. In addition to coursework, the candidate will have also been active in post-graduate clinical training. (Preferred degree from a program that is accredited professional accrediting body, such as APA, CACREP, AAMFT, or CSWE)
  2. Must be licensed or license eligible in the state of Georgia and must take continuing education courses to retain licensure.
  3. 2+ years of practice as a licensed psychologist or from within another mental health discipline. Experience with marriage and family therapy and an assessment background is preferred.
  4. Computer literacy: knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access) and familiarity with the internet and email communications.
